About

Since 1898, one organization has existed in neighborhoods across the United States and Canada. They have given millions of dollars to local and national charities, helped disaster relief efforts and given each and every member a plethora of reasons to be proud. We are, of course, of The Fraternal Order of Eagles. Since the organization began in 1898, Eagles everywhere have dedicated their lives to bettering the American Way. Throughout our early history, we were instrumental in the creation of Mother’s Day, helped in passing Social Security and played a significant role in the Jobs After 40 program. In the year’s since we have donated over $1 million to St. Jude’s Hospital, sent care packages to troops overseas, donated $50,000 to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and lobbied on Capital Hill for numerous causes. Currently, we are in the midst of a five-year, $25 million pledge to The University of Iowa for The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. Our commitment to diabetes research is unwavering and a cornerstone of our philanthropic efforts. Each year our members participate in national sports tournaments, state conventions, international conventions and various other activities that bring Eagles together to raise money for a variety of causes. As a part of our current membership program, all police officers, firefighters, paramedics and honorably discharged veterans get their first year as an Eagle free of charge. It is important to us that the public knows our community involvement goes well beyond being a local bar and extends deep into the world of charitable giving. We encourage you to come out to your local Aerie and get to know what People Helping People is all about!
