I recently retired from Navigant Consulting where I was a Managing Director in their electric utility practice. My consulting work included helping utilities strategically plan for the future through efficiency improvements and in preparing for and making the transition from primarily fossil generation towards a more renewable and distribution focused business. I have served government, cooperative and investor owned utility clients across the United States and internationally on four different continents. My connection to the cooperative family began more than 25 years ago consulting with then United Power Association and several of the distribution cooperatives. I have also worked with multiple cooperatives across America. I was born and raised in Utah, worked for Utah Power & Light Company, PacifiCorp and Toledo Edison. I have a bachelor degree from Utah State University and a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power program. I served in the US Navy aboard nuclear submarines until 1972 when I was honorably discharged. My wife, Vivian, and I live outside Pine River, Minnesota where we enjoy working outdoors, supporting our communities and enjoying our nine grandchildren. I believe my background and experience of working for and consulting with utilities can help Crow Wing Power successfully navigate the changing utility landscape.
