About

The first Saturday in August marks the 12th anniversary of the Chokecherry Festival in Pequot Lakes and it’s scheduled for August 1st, 2019. From the Chokecherry culinary contest, pit spitting contest, back-seat driver game, to the children's activities and crafters and food vendors (including the almost famous shish-ka-bobbers!), the day is packed with opportunities for food and fun! We hope you join us and experience the hospitality of the area. Don't leave until you've tried all of the food, enjoyed the entertainment, bought all you can carry, and competed in the pit spitting contest! Did you know that Pequot Lakes is the “Official” Chokecherry Capital of Minnesota? The City filed the proclamation on June 1st, 2010.
